Dr. Cai has almost 30 years working experience in manufacturing, engineering, R&D, sales & marketing, quality management and senior executive management.
He is a senior lean advisor, for the past 10 years. He specializes in The Toyota Way, Toyota Production System (TPS), lean thinking, on-site lean tool applications and lean leader development. He has successfully helped many companies worldwide in lean implementations, from start up to Fortune 500 companies in fields of pharmaceutical, chemical, forging, casting, electronics, automobiles, shoe making and machinery. Among those companies, the Caterpillar plant in Tianjin, China he coached in 2005-2008 was ranked No.1 in Caterpillar worldwide in lean transformation.
Charles has been a guest speaker in various international forums and often gives lectures and seminars to governments, universities and professional societies. He taught the lean course in a graduate program at Peking University.
Dr. Cai holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry. He got his BS in China and his Ph. D. in USA. As a visiting scholar, he did research on fuel cells at Stanford University for one year. Dr. Cai speaks Mandarin and English and is a certified ISO-9000 auditor
